Thinking About the A-Z Challenge. Any Advice?

Have you taken part in any of the A-Z challenge? I'm thinking about signing up this year. This involves writing 26 blog posts in April and visiting other blogs taking part in the challenge. I thought about writing a series of posts about writing inspiration. I can think of something for A and B, and I'll wing it from there.

If you have taken part:

Did you have a theme? How did it go?
What A-Z blog posts did you enjoy.
Do you have any tips for me?

Oh my, I've just read this:
"Then in 2011 nearly 1300 bloggers signed up and once again the majority of those finished.  People are still talking about that Challenge."

This is one popular blog challenge.

  1. This will be my first year doing the challenge too. I've been reading a lot of other people's posts about it. Seems that a theme is very good and that you need to write at least some of the posts ahead of time so you can visit other people's blogs during the challenge.

I published a book based on the fiction I wrote that month!

  4. I enjoyed it last year; my A to Z was comprised of 26 short fiction markets/venues. I scheduled all of my posts ahead of time, so I was able to spend the month visiting everybody else's blogs instead of trying to come up with ideas for my own.

  5. I loved this challenge ... except I didn't have time for all of it. :( I ended up skipping letters and doing what I could when I could rather than finishing the whole alphabet in order.

  6. I loved the challenge last year. I just added to my normal schedule for the posts, but this year, I'm going to do themed flash fiction. There are so many different posts, I can't pick a favorite type at the moment.

  7. I did the challenge. I wrote topical posts that became my story prompts for story-a-day in May. Great challenge, great way to boost readership, great way to meet other bloggers. Do it, I say!
